When the Tonight Show's format was changed from 90 minutes to 60 minutes in 1980, it meant that many of Johnny Carson's recurring sketches would be seen less frequently, including Art Fern's Tea Time Movie. As a result, this is the first Tea Time sketch featured on the show in several years, as well as Carol Wayne's first appearance on the show since that time. It would also be the last, as she would be found dead a year later.
