It's been nine years since the senseless murder of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, who were conducting an interview on live television at Smith Mountain Lake for WDBJ7 in Roanoke, Virginia.

A profoundly sad story.

I am resisting making a “political” comment related to this senseless tragedy.

WDBJ7 did do a small tribute on the anniversary. A simple musical montage. The images from that incident are still fresh in a lot of people's minds. Especially Kimberly McBroom, who was the anchor at the desk when the tragedy occurred. She's still the Mornin' anchor, and just celebrated 30 years with WDBJ.
