I think Ann Curry is really hot. She's one of my favorites on this board. Great hosed gams. That said, she's just not as likeable as Katie or Meredith, and that's the issue. She was next in line for the gig, and it made sense, but she just doesn't have the authenticity necessary for this totally inauthentic NBC-money-grab-of-a-show. You could tell that Katie Couric was totally a mean girl behind the scenes but she had an American Sweetheart quality in front of the camera. Ditto with Meredith, who actually seemed like she'd be fun to hang out with. Ann should be covering Haiti, not Great Deals for Busy Moms on a Budget. This is beneath her, and it shows.

She's a talent, but talk about wrong gig, for the wrong woman, at the wrong time.

With Savannah Guthrie being the regular sub for Ann over Natalie Morales it's seems we know who is the next in line to co-host at 7am to 9am is.

NatMo, hot as she is, will always be second-fiddle. I think you're right. Savannah has the look, charm, cindy-brady-lisp, and gravitas as a lawyer for the part. NBC may want to make a splash if Ann doesn't work out and hire someone from outside, but who?? I mean, look at Lauer. Part of the reason he got $25m is that there's no young turk for the gig. Weird, dying form that is still worth a crap ton of money for the networks.

Agreed. Ann Curry is a straight news reporter.....she is just out of place on the show with the content. She fits right in hosting Dateline but that's a small gig. It's the same thing with George Stephanopoulos over at GMA.....wrong person for the job. I think Ann Curry would have done a better job than Katie Couric with the evening news if they were both at CBS.
