It's always nice to hear someone compliment you on how strong your marriage is,
or joke about how your spouse puts up with you.

It's not so good when your spouse has been dead for 2 years, and you're on national television.

This happened to Martin Short this morning during the 4th hour of Today, when a
completely clueless Kathie Lee Gifford (how's that for redundant?) was interviewing him along with Hoda Kotb.

Kathie Lee did apologize, but not on the air where it would be too obvious. She chose Twitter instead.

Wonder what assistant or producer felt KLG's full wrath after this? OUCH!!!!!

Its too bad Hoda didnt have a clue either or she could have tried to straighten out the situation. Just to honest I had no idea Martin Shorts wife had passed. You might rememer she and Hoda are more interested in whats in there drink than checking out guest backgrounds. Hoda needs to get back to the newroom and Kathy Lee needs to join Regis on the island of its time to move on.
