Meredith Vieira is departing as host of "Millionaire" after 11 seasons.
Her taping for this season is already wrapping up, and the show is now seeking a new host.
According to the reports, she's preparing to launch her own YouTube project, and continue special
assignments for NBC.

Though she rarely could deliver as she did during her years with The View and Today Show, I will miss her daily presence on TV.

I've been reading that guess who wants his old Millionaire job back? REGIS!!!!

But for years, Millionaire's been getting out-rated by Family Feud, which has cracked the top 10 for the first time since the Richard Dawson era (they used to be the #1 syndicated game show until Wheel of Fortune dethroned them in the '80s).

In my area they moved Family Feud after Regis' old program, which moved channels as well, and before Steve Harvey's new talk show which is on two hours later. Instead of having a longtime host Family Feud has had many hosts in the past 14 years since it returned following both the death of Ray Combs and a failed attempt to have Richard Dawson return. As for Millionaire, I guess Regis wanted to do something after retiring for months. The rumors of him doing today show's 4th hour didn't work out because Hoda was not moved off the hour. Meredith has been appearing a little more on Today show recently as a guest and guest host. She was in three days for KLG on hour 4. And has appeared some days in hour 2 or 3 to do a segment in the past. But she is basically, pairing back some more now by leaving Millionaire two years after she left Today show.

Sorry; I meant to say that for the last couple of months or so, Family Feud's been beating Millionaire for the #3 top-rated syndie game show. Wheel and Jeopardy are still #1 and #2, though overall, they've been getting their butts kicked by Big Bang Theory reruns.

I guess most of us would rather see Kaley Cuoco five times a week over Vanna White.
