I remember back in the late 70s, first time I ever saw pokies on TV was Ann Margret on the Tonight Show. It was the most amazing thing I'd seen since I found my dad's vintage Playboy collection. That lead to a veritable bounty of pokies from the likes of Raquel Welch, Angie Dickenson, Her Majesty Farrah Fawcett, Catherine Bach and the like.

The nipple onslaught peaked (pun?) in the 90s with Friends when every week you were treated to a half hour of Jennifer Annistons nips, and the occasional Courtney Cox

Today, however, we live in essentialy nip=free times. I can't tell you the last time I saw a good pokie on one of the many talk shows.

Whatever happened to the good old days? Why is the nip disappearing from the American TV landscape? What can be done?

Please help!

One of the greatest '60s folk songs ever --
by the Kingston Trio, I believe?

:jetserl

Seriously --
they do happen still, but you're right....it is rare these days. Most likely because more tops and dresses
can be fitted with inserts that didn't exist before, so even when a woman isn't wearing a bra, there's still concealment.

That said, there are hundreds of examples here on WWoW alone, so rest assured if it happens, it'll show up here

I blame global warming.

Humans are being gradually conditioned to the slowly but surely rising heat, with every passing year. To keep our fragile species comfortable, office thermostats have been insidiously creeping up for years. What, like we aren't going to notice? So, TV newsrooms and studios, among many other places, just aren't as cold as they used to be. Alas, not the most pokie-friendly environment. (One obvious exception being Fox "Cheesecake 'R Us" News Channel, as nippy as ever -- obviously, no global warming there, duh -- which only serves to prove my theory.)

Therefore, global warming = newsbabe pokies teetering on the verge of extinction. It's an irretrievable loss for humanity, or at least half of it, unless we take decisive action and do something about the thermostat crisis now.

Of course, I've only watched Bloomberg online for the last decade, so am not qualified to comment on anything else. On that particular channel, hardly a week goes by without some pokies... or, better yet, visible areola contours... now that's rare, and a thing of beauty. Maybe there's still hope for humanity, after all.
