Wow. So should we assume that last week while Norah was filling in that their ratings shot through the roof and they overtook
both Today and GMA?

Nope -- didn't think so. (not a slam on Norah by the way, I just doubt there's much even she could do to help that show)

As I read the article, I have to wonder how they settled on Erica as being the weak link...
never occurred to them that Gayle King or Charlie might be a drag on ratings?
Guess firing Gayle would be a no-no, though.... can't upset her pal Oprah, can we?

The part about Erica's status sounds eerily familiar -- "discussing a new role with us" ?
Yeah -last time we heard that was in regard to Maggie Rodriguez....her "new role" was dropping off the face of the Earth. :?

Another point is - what kind of offer must they be making Norah to pull her away from the White House duties?
That's a pretty plum gig if you've got it, and you'd think she'd feel more secure with that than getting hooked up to
a third-place morning show. Plus, she's pretty firmly rooted in DC -- little kids, a husband there who runs a restaurant, etc.
If all of that stays the same, she's facing some major commuting time every week.
CBS must be making some HUGE promises to her to get her to go along with this.

CBS Morning News is soooooooooooooooo boring they will never be more then what they are now. Hill made it through three make overs time for her to move on. You knew when King was selected the show was going to flop.

I love Norah O'Donnell but I'm going to miss her blatant flirting to get asked questions by the nerdy White House press secretary. Miss Erica though. Maggie Rodriguez, Betty Nguyen, now Erica.

Stupid is as stupid does. Funny thing is you'd think with CBS primetime doing so well, the morning show would be doing better.

Throw Gayle back to Oprah with a big FU attached to her rear, bring Norah in to replace her, keep Erica, and get rid of that damn desk for the love of God!!

...and make sure Charlie Rose follows Gayle and the table out the door! Geez WTF is up with CBS and these 80-year old geezers in the newsroom? Charlie Rose, Harry "Colonoscopy" Smith, Bob Schaefer? None of them bring anyhting to the conversation anymore...sned them to their retirement homes already!!!

Norah looked amazing last week what little I saw. I really like Erica too. Ever notice how Gayle King and Charlie Rose get extended full body shots while Erica and Norah only get 3 second "head-n-shoulders" toss segments. I like Charlie Rose on PBS and I think Gayle can be hot sometimes, but I just can not understand why CBS does not put the real talent out front. GMA does the same thing with Lara Spencer. Thankfully ABC wised up and gave her a show at noon with a format that show cases her very well and I hope it does good. I miss Norah doing the occaisional Today Show. Even if it was just once every 6 months it was more camera time then she is getting now at CBS. The only time I have ever seen Erica's torso was the David Letterman interview and I was very pleased.

Not sure it really matters how well it does... it's a limited summer show.
"Good Afternoon America" is only set to run until Sept. 7th, then the following week, "General Hospital" moves to that time slot,
and Katie Couric's new show goes into "GH"'s place. It's only on because they needed something to fill the spot "The Revolution" had
before it was cancelled.

About the only way they could keep Lara and Josh Elliott doing what they're doing now would be to expand "GMA" by an hour
in the mornings, like the "Today" show did by adding on extra time.

Just learned about this today. The only reason I occasionally watched CBS This Morning was Erica. She is very good at what she does, smart and extremely good looking. CBS keeps sinking deeper and deeper.

Charlie Rose looks like he's just about to fall asleep, and Gayle King is the most obnoxious TV person I've ever seen.

Love Norah O'Donnell, she will be a good addition, but I am not going to watch it. They should have kept Erica, bring Norah instead of Gayle, and replace Charlie with just about anybody.

CBS sucks big time!

I'd be lying if I said that didn't piss me off. Because it did. But CBS did me a favor and now the show's off my dvr. :jetserl
