Wow. So should we assume that last week while Norah was filling in that their ratings shot through the roof and they overtook
both Today and GMA?
Nope -- didn't think so. (not a slam on Norah by the way, I just doubt there's much even she could do to help that show)
As I read the article, I have to wonder how they settled on Erica as being the weak link...
never occurred to them that Gayle King or Charlie might be a drag on ratings?
Guess firing Gayle would be a no-no, though.... can't upset her pal Oprah, can we?
The part about Erica's status sounds eerily familiar -- "discussing a new role with us" ?
Yeah -last time we heard that was in regard to Maggie Rodriguez....her "new role" was dropping off the face of the Earth.
Another point is - what kind of offer must they be making Norah to pull her away from the White House duties?
That's a pretty plum gig if you've got it, and you'd think she'd feel more secure with that than getting hooked up to
a third-place morning show. Plus, she's pretty firmly rooted in DC -- little kids, a husband there who runs a restaurant, etc.
If all of that stays the same, she's facing some major commuting time every week.
CBS must be making some HUGE promises to her to get her to go along with this.
