He says that you don't need to watch CNN anymore, everybody goes to the internet to get their news.

I agree with John.

I agree with what he was saying as well up to a point. To me, the dayside of cable tv should be straight news reporting and the opinion should come in the evening and in prime time (spare breaking news). That said, CNN wants to maintain their brand as just the news with no opinion like Fox or MSNBC and to that end they will fail because, as King rightly points out, people get their news from reading the internet. If CNN wants to be the straight news network (which I don't have a problem with....they have a lot of overseas bureaus and should make use of them) then they should stick to the game plan but they should also know they will languish in 3rd place in the ratings. Cable news has become infotainment and CNN can either get on that bus or stay off it. I just hope their new niche doesn't become the jury trial du jour.

Look John King, like Roland Martin, is just upset with the current changes at CNN. For Roland he was let go. I have no idea about John. I read after his show ended that he did daily that he would be let go, but then I read he was staying. But I don't know his role. So it is very much a case of sour grapes.

In a related note, Byron Pitts bashed CBS on his way out to ABC. He left with Jarvis.
