There is about 8 news channels out there trying to get on cable provides and tv services. It seems like they are all gunning for the big three cable news outlets of CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. I find it very interesting that it is all happening at the same time. Here is the list of fledgling networks.
1. BBC World News which has been around a few years already and is slowly getting on different cable outlets. It is basically International News from the folks at BBC with some English News added in. It is more of a competitor to CNN International.

http://rt.com/3. One America News starting July 4th. It is a joint venture from Herring Broadcast and The Washington Times. It will house a show with Emily Miller. It's aim is to give Fox News competition.
http://www.oneamericanews.com/4. Axs TV and Huffington Post Live. The left leaning website launched a online channel and it was around several months when it abruptly was put on Mark Cuban's AXS TV for about 6 hours a day.

He recently added Laurie Dhue, Uses Dana Loesch sometimes and has a show with S.E. Cupp. It is now trying to get on cable outlets to compete with the three main cable news channels. Already is on cablevision and Dish Network.

Basically Al Jazeera English was around for years, but having a hard time getting on outlets. Well Al Gore sold his channel Current to them and now they are creating a second network Al Jazeera America. It is taking away people from other channels.

P.S. There is also Weather Nation which Denver's KUSA added as a digital sub channel out there that is online to view as well that is a new weather outlet.
