I like what CNN has to offer and the fact that they can do stories and whole shows that DON'T have to be about politics!!

Cable news doesn't have to mean political news 24/7

He has a point, but CNN and it's sister channel has flaws, seeming endless coverage of the Jodi Arias trial :Bang

For better or worse, Jeff Zucker is responsible for turning MSNBC into "The Place For Politics."

In the light of leaving his anchors in the field for a week, trying to milk a news story (see: Boston bombing) and the Banfield/Grace in the same parking lot split screen fiasco, Zucker has no business bashing anybody.

"Politics and much more" does not mean wall-to-wall coverage of Jodi Arias while so much else is going on.

He needs to reunite Ashliegh with Zoraida, get rid of the desk monsters in his studio, and make Jennifer Westhoven stop wearing Birkenstocks on the set.

Considering that his channel is having the worst ratings in its existence, I consider this the same as Red Sox broadcasters whining about the Yankees while NY is in the playoffs and the Sox are at home in October.

This is the second article today about somebody bashing Fox News. I'm just curious: why are we even bringing this up?

FNC is beating CNN, HLN and msnbc in the ratings. They've been doing so for years and they will continue to do so until everybody involved acknowledges that there is a crucial, fundamental problem with how journalism is handled in this country.

Journalism in America died the night that prominent TV journalists from all three networks attended a fete' for Fidel Castro (yes, THAT Castro) in NYC over twenty years ago. It probably died even earlier than that when Barbara Walters did her softball interview with him.

The issues currently undermining TV journalism, and maybe journalism in America overall, have weeping-willow invasive roots; until the powers at be at the major networks and the cable networks publicly acknowledge this AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, we will continue to be peeing in a hurricane on this issue.

Zucker's network is part of the problem. Until he faces it head on and starts making some fundamental changes to CNN/HLN's philosophy and personnel, his channels will continue to be positioned in the FNC's rear view mirror. He can female dog about his competition until he's blue in the face, but results are results.

Oh, and bring back Ashleigh and Zoraidia to "Early Start".

And make Candy Crowley lose 50 lbs and start wearing skirts.

And make JenWes stop wearing Birkies on set.

And get rid of all the desk monsters on shows where he has female anchors.

As the bearer of two board warnings for my efforts in these discussions, I agree. May I go a step further and recommend to the mods that any thread bringing up topics like these, just kill them at the start. At best, nothing we do or say here is going to impact cable news as we know it. At worst, we can't have a decent discussion without the thread descending into us posting comments like 15-year old kids.

Cubs fans can hate the Cardinals, but it's not gonna change the Cards' eleven World Series titles (and the last two as a wild card... :Furious )

The rest of the world can hate Fox News, but results and ratings don't lie.
