Amy Robach has breast cancer.

Amy Robach has just revealed on GMA the shocking news that she has breast cancer. A few weeks ago, she volunteered to have a mammogram live on the air. As I'm typing the shocking news has come out.

Wow, I bet she caught it early and will be fine because of the show. No wonder she gone for a while. I remember that show where she got tested you couldn't tell she just got the news if they told her then.

I was sitting at my computer when the report came on. You're right, Amy hasn't been on the show in quite some time. And when the report started, a weird feeling came over me. Usually a report of good news comes as a taped piece, not something live from a couch. And when Amy said those words, "I have breast cancer.", her voice cracked, and a moan came out from the studio. Apparently none of the crew knew. But I'm glad that she had everyone there, especially Robin, to support her. And indeed, hopefully this cancer was caught early enough to save her life.

I have to say, I thought something was up when she missed the Halloween special even though she had tweeted that she was fitted for a costume, and then didn't appear on GMA afterward. She must have found out just before Halloween. What a tough time for ABC, having just gotten Robin back and now Amy and Elizabeth Vargas are fighting their own battles. Prayers for Amy and Elizabeth. :cry:

I'm devastated. Amy is probably my favorite of all the newswomen covered here. I loved watching her on Weekend Today and followed her to GMA, not just because he was beautiful but also because of her personality. She made the morning and the day brighter. I'm glad they found out in time and hope that she gets through this. She may may have to have a mastectomy but she'll still have that beautiful eyes, gorgeous honey blonde hair, stunning smile and fantastic legs!

Thats awful to hear. I hope she caught it early enough that she doesn't have to do anything super drastic to beat it.

Amy is my favorite. She has a great support group. I'm sure she'll be fine. She is going to have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery like Angelnia Jolie.

All my best to Amy who is a sweetheart on screen & off as well the time I met her.

I do have to say something fishy is going on in this world!

Why are all these Young ladies getting Breast Cancer, Why are so many kids getting Autism, & Where did all these Peanut Allergies come from????

When I was a kid you never heard about Peanut Allergies or Autism & while Breast Cancer did happen it was NOWHERE in the numbers it is these days.

Is it the chemicals & preservatives in food, the poison in the air, or something we arent even thinking of? This is getting out of control!

Some guesses:
I've heard that the allergies might be related to being too clean, something about having a weaker immune system.
Breast cancer - maybe more screening and hormones people are taking could account for an increase if there is an increase.
Autism is definitely not related to vaccinations but I really think it has to do with awareness leading to more diagnoses and more misdiagnoses.

I hope that Amy Robach comes out on the victory side over cancer. Once again we're reminded that those women, who we very much like to see, have situations in their lives that they must go thru, and sometimes it's not so pretty. Let's pray that Amy will overcome in this crisis...

I wish the best of all the people in the media and in the spotlight suffering with health issues including Amy. There have been quiet a few people with health issues in the media over the years.

Very sad. I lost my mom to cancer a few years back. It's a devastating disease,and it seems like more people are being diagnosed with it now than ever before. It's frightening.

I'll keep Amy in my prayers,and hope for the best outcome possible for her.
