Hearing scuttlebutt from 6th Ave. that @LizClaman may be on the way out at @FoxBusiness. Claman is very good but good, cheaper talent avail.

@FoxBusiness has been cutting corners for some time, e.g. Hennessey's job wasn't filled. But net is growing; FBN is slowly gaining on CNBC.

Maria Bartiromo's CNBC contract is also up this year...hmm.

That's a shame, Liz is great. If it's true they would be dumb not moving Nicole Petallides to the studio.

I second that :ditto .

Besides, that is the one and only reason why I watch FBN in the first place. Sure hope this idle rumor is not true.

Claman is cool but FBN needs to make better use of the talent they have. In other words, Nicole needs her own show...period. No way in the he'll a broad that fine shouldn't have her own show and an opportunity to showcase her skills for a couple of hours. Then to boot, the broad has a pair of the best legs anywhere and is NOT afraid to show them.

Frankly, I'm not going to be mad if Liz goes back to CNBC or even Bloomberg (they could use some help) for that matter. Nicole is the finest broad on FBN period and they need to find a way to showcase her. Head shots from the floor of the NYSE are just not cutting it.

Peace...

If the cable news websites start reporting it then there might be something to that.
I doubt FBN would want to her leave when they made the big effort to get her from CNBC.

Liz is my favorite news babe but she is a Liberal so it would make sense if they replaced her with Maria.

Maria will connect more with the Conservative audience etc...

We'll see what happens

The. Original. Money Honey.

OMG!

I wonder how this move is going to shake things up on my favorite business channel.

I will admit, back when CNBC was the only business network--I watched Maria only a few times. Fast forward several years, I only remembering hearing about Liz's work at CNBC from reading various newspapers, but I did not get the chance to see her often as I have had since the launch of FBN in October 2007.

Also, Fox Business had of course another woman who did not mind showing off not just her legs, but also her glamorous side in showcasing the best of red carpet dresses for the Oscars--Rebecca Diamond (Gomez) of Happy Hour fame.

I guess this news can be filed in the case of CNBC really losing touch with their audience, and on the flip side--Fox Business continuing to push the envelope more in communicating on the premise of, "Where Wall Street Meets Main Street."

Cannot wait to see what the revised afternoon schedule will be like.
Personally, Gerri Willis should have been shown the door the first week after Happy Hour was shown the door in 2010.

And speaking of Liz--the night after she watched her L.A. Kings score the only goal at the newly renovated MSG against the New York Rangers, she finds herself in Naples, Florida at the CME Group's Global Leadership Conference.

Let us see what the schedule is come Monday, November 25 since Maria's CNBC contract expires on Sunday.

Sure hope Liz stays on. I would sure hate for her to leave with all of the momentum heading in FBN's direction during most of 2013.

Post subject:  Re: Maria Bartiromo to FBN. Liz Claman on the way out at FBN

I've never watched CNBC on a regular basis. Back in the day, I watched the HELL out of FBN. Back when they had Alexis Glick's fine a$$ and when they showcased the hell out of Jenna and Nicole Petallides. When Glick was let go and replaced by Imus, I stopped watching FBN altogether and went to Bloomberg. Glick was fine as hell and even though I have no idea as to the circumstances behind her departure, that was no doubt a huge mistake for FBN.

As far as bringing sex appeal to FBN with Maria, that's a no, but what she does and will bring is a loyal following on biz minded individuals who will actually tune in for pertinent biz info and not just for eye candy. I'm anxious to see how this move goes as once again. It seems as if the biz news environment is experiencing a slight paradigm shift.

Peace...

Poor Liz

She left CNBC cause of their favoritism toward Maria and Erin

She was like the 3rd wheel

Now FBN poaches Maria

No way Liz gets to keep her 3pm slot imho :Doh

Post subject:  Re: Maria Bartiromo to FBN. Liz Claman on the way out at FBN

CNBC is a notoriously low paying cable network
I'm sure Fox sweetened the money pot
CNBC probably isn't shedding any tears
Bartiromo had run her course there
Plus Maria is, shall we say, ethically challenged

http://pagesix.com/2013/10/02/bartiromo ... n-divorce/

I hope Liz doesn't lose her spot for Maria but that's just what might happen
Maybe Liz bumps Lori Rothman out of the early show
It will be interesting to see how CNBC fills the spot
It could go to Melissa Lee, but it just might go to Kelly Evans
I'll take either over Bartiromo
