Look for her to do more weather during the week, thanks to veteran meteorologist of 21 years Mike Caplan being forced out:
According to the website of chicagoradioandmedia.com, they reported on Friday:
"With the forced departure of Mike Caplan as afternoon meteorologist (as first reported here yesterday), WLS-TV/ABC 7 has decided to now go with their newly-hired meteorologist Cheryl Scott to replace Caplan at 4:00pm. In addition, Scott will also forcing out Jerry Taft from the 5:00pm newscasts and taking over those weather reports. Scott will continue to work the 7:00pm newscasts of ABC 7, seen on WCIU-TV/The U. Taft retains his title of Chief Meteorologist, but now will only be seen at 6:00pm and 10:00pm."
