This past week reporter and anchor Katie Brook was released from WSET. On the same day, morning and Midday anchor Megan Dice jumps ship. Today comes the word of Facebook that former weekend anchor, and current morning "out and about" reporter Marissa Parra is leaving. Her last day is Wednesday. Three departures within a week. Something smells awful fishy about all of this.

No words yet. But seriously? Katie Brook, Megan Dice, and Marissa Parra all leaving within the span of a week? They did bring in a new reporter by the name of Emily Swecker, who isn't that bad looking. But to lose 3 people in a week just doesn't sound right. They let Katie go, which sounds like a money move. Katie wanted to stay. I think she's working at Amazement Square now. Megan is now at a small time cable news station in New Jersey. Marissa's looks could get her a few opportunities. She was born in Miami, with a Bolivian heritage. So she could probably work for anything bilingual. I could hazard to say that they're probably putting all of this money into keeping Danner. After all, she is in all of the TV ads. She's pretty much the babe of the station. Maybe they're kicking all of the younger talent out to keep her happy. I'm just throwing out guesses here. But there has to be some dirty laundry somewhere.

It happens plus isn't Lynchburg a stepping stone for talent. More than likely in small market, talent is there for a year or two then they're gone unless it's a local person who wants to stay. Plus a talent from my neck of the woods is leaving herself.

It is true that reporters at WSET don't stay for very long. Most reporters only stay for a year or two. Although they have a few who have been their for two decades or more. Dennis Carter has been their since 1983. Noreen Turyn since 1990. Pattie Martin has been there in one capacity or another since 1987. Maybe one reporter will leave per year. But not three people in the span of a week.

This photo speaks volumes. When you have your weekend 6 and 11 anchor, Kari Beal filling in on Good Morning Virginia, alongside Matt Ferguson, the former morning meteorologist turned real estate agent. Now Matt is the 4th string meteorologist who fills in whenever someone can't work in the morning.

Man, sounds like you need a scorecard to keep track of all the people: leaving, switching, etc. :shades

We had the same situation in my area, where they let go of two veteran anchors and a veteran meteorologist all in one week. The supposed reason was never given; currently it's being litigated in court...

:wave

What's going on with Sinclair? They have anything to do with this? I heard some bad thing about them from Last Week Tonight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvtNyOzGogc

Also another local talent left just months into the job. I starting to wonder myself and Sinclair doesn't own any station here.
