It was time to go back to school.
The opening minute nearly resembled that weird Marty McFly scene at that high school gym from the original
Back To The Future movie.
But it all changed once Cheryl and morning man Terrell Brown took to the mic--and then the big-time dancing was on.
Making a special appearance, I am sure many of you remember watching during select time outs from Chicago Bulls games--The Jesse White Tumblers continue to strut their stuff like very few organizations can.
From the basketball court then into a few classrooms that resemble your typical public high school, there were so many dancers pretending to be students and somehow thought it was okay to throw out hundreds of sheets of paper like confetti.
Finally, everyone ran past a fire escape door and out onto the football field for the finish.
Overall, it was a good performance--all shot as if you were watching a movie in 4K. Compared to last year's "AI Takeover", this was just your overall feel-good dance.
(Especially since we are entering a year of uncertainty, the likes of which has not been seen probably since the late 1960's into the early 1970's, but I digress.)
As mentioned on her Instagram, they shot the dance in late September since she is in the early stages of her pregnancy. Her first child will (hopefully) be due sometime in the middle of the year.
They did mention live from the former Morton Salt factory plant-turned rock venue called The Salt Shed that their really groovy varsity letterman jackets were made by Jenna Blazevich of Vichcraft (which they say is, "An intersectional feminist lettering shop and design studio.") It is located on the north side of Chicago, for those willing to travel there and check out what they have in store.
One small note, there was a lot of major flashing in the third minute--so please try not to focus on that part of the dance to avoid getting any type of epilepsy.
For the seventh New Year's Eve in a row, please enjoy and try to leave some comments on the ABC7 Chicago YouTube channel (dare I say, could we see Cheryl somehow make it to
DWTS sometime in 2026?)
