Monday's early afternoon show was live (originally the show was taped), and it had on Sam Champion and Lara Spencer from the morning team. DeMarco Morgan was not in, presumably from showing from what some might call sexy photos on his Instagram posing as next to his bicycle.
Some small details from last Tuesday (ironically on April Fool's Day) have both DeMarco and Eva Pilgrim possibly being laid off by late summer as part of a major shakeup with the once dominant morning show.
My sense after watching today's show, the fun times have mostly disappeared--especially when they led off the show with investigative reporter Aaron Katersky showing a lighter side story talking about who would be performing at Fyre Fest 2, with a former All-Pro football player turned rapper as the only confirmed act.
When it was Amy Robach, T.J. Holmes, and Dr. Jennifer Aniston that took over
Strahan, Sara, and Keke--that was at the start of the COVID pandemic in March 2020. It just hasn't been the same, and the ratings have proved it (especially when Amy and T.J. began their love affair in late 2022.)
Ironically, Dr. Jen appeared last week on the morning show alongside Michael Strahan for a segment.
But as they say, all good things come to an end.
