Brianda Villegas has posted on social media that she's leaving WFLA in a few months time to move to WFAA in Dallas/Ft. Worth as their new traffic reporter.

Is a traffic reporter a promotion from being a feature reporter, which Brianda was?
Or does the Dallas market pay that much better than the Tampa market?

Not to dig too deep into the weeds, but Tampa is the 12th largest media market. Dallas is 5th, but with the increase of people relocating to the Metroplex--many media members have them listed as the fourth largest market.

And get this--with the increase in crime and shady politics plaguing Chicago for decades, several thousand people and select companies have flooded in droves (at least what it seems like if you have read the formerly great Robert Feder's column until he retired in June 2022.)

Bottom line, it wouldn't surprise me if Dallas overtakes Chicago as the number 3 media market. Texas is the place to be for lots of people working for the local stations, especially in the bigger cities.

Plus she’s bilingual which helps in that market

Brianda started on WFAA on Monday.

Brianda posted on Facebook and Instagram that she has left Dallas and returned to Florida
She is undergoing counseling for depression and alcohol abuse and did not say if she would be returning to TV
Wishing Brianda well and hope everything works out for her
