The musical anchor chairs continue at World News Now.

Ever since Rhiannon Ally's departure on Aug. 29, there has been a rotating cast of characters on World News Now. Rhiannon bolted for GMA:3, and various other gigs on the network. Andrew Dymburt jumped ship as well, seemingly going AWOL until last week when he subbed for Diane Macedo on ABC News: Live. Substitute hosts Andrea Fuji'i and Alison Kosik are back to doing their freelance reporting.

Ever since the departures of these four they have rotated anchors every week. In the past three weeks we have had Morgan Norwood, Stephanie Ramos, and this week, Maggie Rulli.

Kinda makes you wonder what the criteria is for choosing the anchors week after week. Do they flip coins, pick straws, armwrestle? :TickTock

It was officially announced this week that Sophie Flay, formerly of KTLA is the new overnight anchor and anchor of World News Now. After all of those weeks of rotating anchors, they chose a lady who was only on a handful of times a few months ago. And it's kinda fitting that they chose a lady who closely resembles the former host of WNN, Rhiannon Ally.

How will this translate with the late night owls remains to be seen. Let's how social media reacts to this hire.
