Very horrible news from Tucson, Arizona this past weekend involving the mother of longtime popular NBC Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie:

She has hosted the last three Olympic Games and helped out covering other Olympiads dating back to 2012 in London.
Please pray for her, and that her mom gets back to her home safely.

Similar to what happened earlier this decade with Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, hopefully the mother of Savannah Guthrie will come out of this nasty ordeal safely--because she needs her daily medicine (sorry to get too dramatic for this kind of forum).

I'm no criminal psychologist, but this almost seems like a "next best thing" sort of scenario. If there's no burglary, no ransom note, what else is there? Unless this is the unfortunate case of someone who just wants to torture or kill for the sake of pleasure. Eventually there's going to be suspect with a possible motive. But with such a short window in terms of this poor lady needing medicine, anything found may be in vain.

I've just seen a video where the folks at TMZ are claiming that they've received a ransom note pertaining to the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mother.

Yes, since the sheriff gave everyone very few details in the brief press conference other than saying that, "Nancy was held against her will."

It's getting ugly, even if there are no updates until at least Thursday late in the morning Mountain time.
As Savannah herself mentioned in her Instagram late Monday afternoon: "Please pray."

Seeing Samantha and her sister read their prepared statements on her Instagram, it felt like you were watching a movie. It nearly made my jaw drop.

I hate to beat the drum again, but it's worth repeating:
Savannah has spent a good chunk of her career covering hard and soft news since joining TODAY in 2011, this after pivoting away from being a lawyer. Now to become the news is chilling. Once there is more information from Arizona, that should be the next time we should then react--with the hopes that Nancy is still alive. Hope they grabbed her medication, since initial reports said she left her phone and her medications behind.

Thursday's news briefing contained a timeline conducted by the FBI, and there was blood that belonged to Nancy outside on her front porch.

No other major leads were reported either by the FBI or in Pima County. They have received hundreds of tips, thanks to those two phone numbers already released to the media.

Hopefully, more news will happen in the coming days--since one ransom deadline came and went.

Saturday, Jan. 31 at 5:32 p.m. Guthrie traveled to her family's house for a game night.
Jan. 31 at 9:48 p.m. Her family dropped her back at home, and the garage door opened.
Jan. 31 at 9:50 p.m. The garage door closed.

Sunday, Feb. 1 at 1:47 a.m. Doorbell camera in front of Guthrie's home disconnected.
Feb. 1 at 2:12 a.m. Software for the smart home detected a person on the camera, but no video is available.
Feb. 1 at 2:28 a.m. Guthrie's pacemaker app shows it was disconnected from her phone.
Feb. 1 at 11:56 a.m. The family checks on her.
Feb. 1 at 12:03 p.m. Family calls 9-1-1 to report her missing.
Feb. 1 at 12:15 p.m. Patrol cars arrive.

Like to know what the cameras recorded before being destroyed

From the press conference, the FBI and investigators could not tell what actually happened when the equipment was cut off. Burglars definitely have lots of sneaky tools they use to inflict a lot of damage.

Last night, Savannah's brother Cameron had a very short 21 second message on her Instagram basically saying the same things that Savannah tearfully pleaded to whoever the kidnapper is. He appeared more direct, but acted mostly on the calm side.

There will be no more press conferences, unless there is something that is "breaking". Sure hope it won't happened during the Super Bowl, since NBC is Savannah's place of employment and this is "Legendary February"--which all kicks off with the Opening Ceremony in Milan, Italy.
The record will show that it will mark the 17th Olympics appearance featuring Mary Carillo, longtime tennis analyst that took over for Savannah. Any mention by Terry Gannon or Mary will be coincidental.

I am sure someone will share it on social media this afternoon. In the meantime, respect their privacy and continue to pray.

The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department said authorities received another note regarding Nancy Guthrie and are investigating it, according to a Friday post on X:

"Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity," the sheriff's department wrote.

NFL/NBA play-by-play announcer and Olympics prime time host Mike Tirico was on Christopher "Mad Dog" Russo's show on SiriusXM Radio earlier this week.

He is asking everyone to pray for Savannah and her family, as he also shared some pleasant memories from past Olympics when they worked together:

“Savannah Guthrie was supposed to host Monday night as we were traveling over (to Italy). And I can’t tell you how gut-wrenching and heartbreaking this week has been for any of us in the NBC family, people who know Savannah.

I had the chance to do multiple opening ceremonies with her, anchor the Today show with her for a week, see her at all these events that (the) Today show comes to. And we’re just crushed and thinking and praying for them every minute. If prayer is part of your life, anybody who’s listening, please include the Guthrie family in your thoughts because Savannah is as nice a person as she is on TV.”

For those curious to know, yes they did mention about why her void was being felt, all of this prior to the Opening Ceremony in Milan, Italy this afternoon Eastern time.

Terry Gannon led off by saying:
"We're certainly without a very important and beloved member of our team tonight. She is dearly missed by everybody."

Former tennis star Mary Carillo followed up by saying:
"She's covered so many Olympics, and she loves it. Right now, of course, Savannah and her family are in unspeakable, unfathomable pain. We know that in the U.S., her extended family is legion. Savannah, my friend, it's the same way here."

Gannon added, "We send our love and prayers and all of our positive energy to Savannah tonight."
