WKRC Local 12 Cincinnati medical reporter and anchor Liz Bonis passed away on April 30th from Colon Cancer, she was 58.

I used to cap Liz and I didn't realise she had cancer. A very beautiful woman who was passionate about medical stories to the point she anchored a medical show on Sunday mornings.

The statement from her family had this quote that stood out the most:

"Even at the end of her life, she told no one about her fight. Instead, she reported vigorously on new medical technology and cancer treatments even as her options dwindled. She chose instead to assist researchers and patients looking for solutions to others’ health challenges rather than focus on her own. Liz died like she lived, always determined to do the best she could on that day, and to be better the next."

So sad that very few people outside of her family and close friends knew about this debilitating and tragic disease.
