Starting at midnight Eastern time on Friday, Radio Network News will begin a new era for over a dozen news/talk radio stations across the country.

As it turned out on Friday afternoon, several of the news/talk stations switched (smartly) to ABC News Radio.

Instead of being aired on over 1,000 stations (this according to Wikipedia on the CBS News Radio page), ABC has over 1,400 stations--some in very small towns.

Overall, it is a tremendous loss for traditional listeners but a major upgrade for the big cities.
