That is almost the entire roster of correspondents.

Here was Scott's response to him being fired:

And many in the news media were simply pissed about the sad (call it death?) of 60 Minutes as a broadcast institution, this according to the independent news media site Status:

If nobody saw what happened to Stephen Colbert and Anderson Cooper when he end up walking away, we certainly took notice in what Scott defiantly called on Monday as "Black Thursday."

The firings of Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega also struck a major nerve. Their statements were exactly what we are going through as a nation. It is very sad and depressing to see how Bari Weiss has turned a trusted newsmagazine since 1968 end up in shambles.

I'm curious as to what may happen come next season. Will 60 Minutes survive with an entirely new group of reporters? Or will it die a very painful death.

The CBS Evening News just aired a report tonight on Pelley's firing. They even mentioned all previous firings from 60 Minutes. Add to this, they gave Pelley a tribute package. Talk about saving face! At least they were open and honest about the situation.

Obviously, the people now running CBS are clowns who live in fear of Trump.

But Pelley can’t be surprised by the firing can he?
You rip your bosses publicly like that, what do you think is going to happen?

Pelley is 68. He knew what he was doing. He literally took one for the team. Weiss is a clown and a bootlicker.

That familiar stopwatch is running out of battery power, and these firings came with a heavy price tag, but David Ellison and Bari Weiss got their wish. Hopefully people will continue to boycott the network, as we can start calling in the Corrupt Broadcasting System:

What does Stephen Colbert have to say about these mass firings, all within a five day period?

Well, plenty in this YouTube Short:

"Gone in 60 Minutes", but who was counting during that contentious meeting on Monday morning.

But what Scott Pelley did in speaking the truth shows what a hero is. If you saw the TV Emmy Awards that aired hours after Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega were told by phone that they were fired, he spoke about this in why the show meant to so much to millions of Americans (and practically the world thanks to their YouTube channel showing the full interviews labeled "60 Minutes Overtime"):

Here is how two media reporters at The Hollywood Reporter thought about why Bari Weiss decided to tear down what was a credible powerhouse that held many leaders' feet to the fire, so-to speak:

Excellent analysis from two former legacy network reporters, Jim Acosta and Katie Phang:

Scott Pelley gives first podcast interview, fittingly called "The Interview", the weekly podcast from The New York Times.
He explains early on what exactly happened in that closed door meeting when he met with Nick Bilton for the first time, this happening prior to him being fired:

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes spoke more about Scott's interview, largely from their many past experiences working in network TV news.

Bari Weiss not answering any of his questions on Tuesday, and plus waiting for over 4 hours to find out he was fired--simply awful:

This might be worth monitoring:

Stephen Colbert and Scott Pelley teaming up, but sadly it was all an AI segment. :(
