For the first time ever, the five newest NHL teams are all in the playoffs together. Two of those five--the Winnipeg Jets and the Minnesota Wild--will face each other. The Winnipeg Jets had their best season in franchise history; in their 19th season (originally debuted in 1999 as the Atlanta Thrashers), the Jets set records in wins (52) and points (114). The Minnesota Wild (debuted in 2000) continue to establish themselves as a perennial playoff team, as they are making their sixth consecutive playoff appearance. The Jets' appearance is only their third, but they have never won a playoff game, as their previous two appearances in 2007 (as the Thrashers) and 2015 saw them swept out of the playoffs. The Jets are a team on a mission, and not only will we see them win a playoff game for the first time, they'll win their first series. Prediction: Jets in 7 #1 |

Jets 3, Wild 2 A pair of firsts: Patrik Laine's first career playoff goal, and the Jets' very first playoff game win in franchise history (debuted as the Atlanta Thrashers in 1999). |

Wild 6, Jets 2 Wild's four goal second period led them to their Game Three win and made this a series. |
