I have the HD PVR and it works great for capturing the stream, but the conversion software crashes every time i use it. So i have been trying other 3rd party conversion and editing tools. Regardless of which application i use all of the videos come out choppy and seek poorly. The raw recording plays smoothly, the problem seems to be with the conversion process. I have very little experience with HD conversions. Is there a remedy for this problem?

Here is the original M2TS file http://www.mediafire.com/?ho1cdsasrdu6x9x

Here is the choppy converted version http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6BN6JOB2

Thanks.

I think the HDPVR files just don't handle well with converters. The one I use handbrake from sceptreX42's recommendation, and it works flawlessly. The older version 0.9.3 has Xvid, or if you just want to convert to compress to h.264 user newer versions.

Older version can be found at Videohelp:

I recommend using the decomb function for 1080i to smooth the picture out. :Thumb
