I was wondering if a widescreen LCD computer monitor could be used as an HDTV with an HD cable box.
Today I bought a DVI to HDMI adaptor and connected my monitor to the HD cable box and it worked.
I had to set the resolution in the cable box menu to 720p since the monitors only support up to 720p screen size for native format.
It's a nice cheaper option if you don't want to or can't buy an HDTV.
The only catch is you will need set of small speakers since most computer monitors don't have them built in.
