I have a Verizon HD DVR
If I buy a Hauppauge Colossus PCI Express tuner/video capture card is an HDTV necessary?
Can I just record the show on the DVR at 1080i and move it to the capture card
If the show is recorded at 1080i is that what will be on the capture card even though my TV is not HDTV (I can watch HDTV on the monitor through the HDMI)
Is a TV used for anything other than viewing?
Can a 720p be upscaled to a 1080 image capture

I am kind of wondering the same thing. Do you actually need a screen to cap, or will a device that the signal comes through be enough? Is that what your first question is asking?
