This is the message on the front page of FileSonic. All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally. |

Seriously? That was quick.. I guess all are about to get hit. Yeah, I just checked my account. It was only 30 days but now I don't get the rest of the time. Guess I won't join anyone else at all until I see how this settles out. Looks like a bunch might be about to be hit. I didn't even know Filesonic had American ties. I don't know what any of these companies were thinking by doing that. |

Just read somewhere else that Mediafire is deleting files right now as we speak. Seems the Megaupload bust has them all spooked. |

I guess we should be surprised it took this long to happen. All of these sites were full of sh** to begin with trying to give the idea that all people were sharing was baby pics, graduation videos and wedding videos. That kind of crap is nowhere near gonna generate the amount of income to run that kind of business or generate that much interest or customer base. Everyone always knew what they were doing including them. The way the copyright laws are written I mean seriously ONLY material that someone owns the rights to or some media conglomerate that owns the rights to is gonna be what people are interested in. Thats just how it is. The stuff they're doing now though by going after it so broadly and in general is truly gonna affect a lot of stuff people never even thought about considering and its gonna be a long list. |

An article in today's USA Today indicated that Mediafire hasn't changed their policy yet and that they are following the laws. We'll see about that. So far I haven't had any files deleted. |

This move by Filesonic upset me the most out of all of it. I get they're trying to cover themselves, but they more or less just said F U to everyone that used their service, and just like that. What? Disabling the affiliate program wasn't enough? Instead they said 'we're going to take your money and then only let use upload and download your own stuff, thanks for paying us, ha ha ha ha'. Makes me wonder if Activision owns them. But...this will all blow over in a week or two. Another site will rise from the ashes (will it be rapidshare again?). That, and I don't recommend buying a premium account anywhere anytime soon. Still unhappy that I lit 10 bucks on fire last week, lol. |

Mine was on auto pay but I thought I had cancelled it right after the payment so then they never take more than the first ten dollars but somehow I missed them. |
