How can I watch videos from youtube on the VLC player? I want to do this to create still captures. is it even possible? Thanks, The Sherifff |

Thanks, The Sherifff Sheriff, I have a program called Video Cache View, that lets me take videos from the Internet Explorer temp files folder and copy them someplace else. They play in VLC. I use it for Youtube, adult sites, etc. Now I don't remember where I got it from, but it was certainly free (and pretty small in size.) You can probably find it fairly easily. The only caveats are that you can't capture streaming video with it (e.g. Foxnews.com) and you have to have the browser open to the video to get it, since closing a tab or a whole browser will cause the system to erase the temporary files. And always let the Youtube video fully load before copying it, or you will copy a partial video. If that doesn't work, you can always go old school, full screen the Youtube video, and do a a Print Screen copy and paste. |

If you're using FireFox, load the "Download Helper" addon. I'll let you download the youtube vid to your computer, and from there you can do anything with it. |
