i want to create some space on pc and want to cut out my dv video camera out of the transfer process to save time

my computer doesn't have dvd burner but i do have a dvd recorder that has a IEEE 1394 Firewire slot, (which i use for my dv video camera to transfer between the two)

is there any program or software that that can use a fireware cable to transfer straight from a pc to dvd recorder?
