I am trying to find the H264 codec to play some clips and I have not been successful thus far. I have the lastest Quicktime but it won't play the clip even though it should have that codec. Any help is appreciated. :Thumb

I did find that same page for the codec but for some reason it did not work. Is there a specific folder that it should be in? :hum

What dose the Quicktime error message say? - Is there a number following the message?
A week ago I downloaded a video file that would not open - It said it was a H264 codec but Quicktime couldent play it - FFtoMpegX opened it - But thats a mac program.

Windows Media tells me that I need the codec. The message I get from Quicktime is
Quote:
Error -50: an unkown error occurred

This is a one clip of many I have downloaded but can't get to work because of the codec....

Its a h264, yuv420p, 768x576 - And my Quicktime did not open it.
So my minions at the lab converted it to a super cool codec...

http://rapidshare.de/files/21067341/Teo ... avi.ff.avi

DivX 6.0, 768 x 576, Millions
MPEG Layer 3, Stereo, 48.000 kHz

I dont know why we cant open it - And I dont know why people choose oddball codecs - H264 takes forever to encode at 2 passes - And the results are so so at best. That why I dont use it - All the videos at ITUNES are H264 - Anyway - Good talk, good talk.

Rocky, I played the clip fine with VLC Media Player.

Couldn't play it with anything else though.
