Hi hellraizer619, maybe this is not exactly the right board to answer your question, especially with almost no further info than you've given about your problem so far (no offence meant, but the approbriate answer to a question like yours would sound like: "Have you tried to switch on your computer yet?" or "Maybe you should get yourself a new computer"). Try to give more specifics about your problem and your computer system first in order to get helpful answers fast:
- Which operating system is in use, any service packs installed yet, installed any other software, firmware or drivers recently? Has this always been a problem, or has it developed overnight or just recently? - What exactly have you tried to solve the problem so far? Did you get any error messages, what do they say? - Any particular system settings related to your problem (eg. hardware settings as found under 'System' > 'Hardware' > 'Hardware-Manager' as found in Windows 2000) and found problems. Maybe even registry settings and entries related to your problem. Not a lot of people are willing to help if they have to ask all these questions before. And they're right! A description like yours seems to be asked by someone who doesn't really care a lot or who doesn't know a lot about computers. In both cases it looks like an ungrateful job for someone who might know some answers and might be willing to answer otherwise. Keep this in mind if you look for help. The following links lead to help-boards whose members have far more expertise in the field of hard- and sofware problems, especially those related to cd/dvd related ones, than the average user of a celebrity board usually has. They solve problems like yours on a daily basis: All those forums linked above require a membership and are free. Use the board's "Search" function first, before you go about posting a new thread requesting help. Someone might have asked and solved it already. The following link leads to more cd/dvd related resources like faqs, guides and software. If you won't get any further clous by browsing those forums above, those dedicated resources might do the job: Last, but not least you might want to gather information about your hardware, system and installed software first, in order to be prepared for any question potential helpers might need to ask. This piece of software is free and will provide you with all info nessessary:
You'll need admin privileges in order to run a full scan on all parts of your system. Export all info found to a html page and copy and paste particular fields of interest to forum postings and help requests. Good luck! |
