I purchased a new computer (unfortunately optimized for Vista) and now my capture card will not allow for the volume to be increased inside of the program that I use - even in XP (I installed a second hard drive specifically for that OS - Vista is quite horrible). Using Windows Audio Mixer to increase the overall volume is still not enough.

I contacted the manufacturer and was told the following:

"You do not have this option with the newer HD sound cards."

So I was wondering... is there a program that will allow me to increase the volume after the capture has been made with no loss of video quality (i.e. simply importing the finished capture into it)?

I have used VirtualDub in the past and loved the results, but have only used it to create web clips. Beyond that, I love the simplicity of the software program that I currently use.

Any help or information would be appreciated.

I checked out Video Help, but it is a bit difficult to navigate and find exactly what I need.

Thanks in advance.

If you have Nero Vision it has a volume level. I think you can go up to 200% on it. You might lose a little bit of vid quality when encoding unless your original vid is mpeg-2 and you export as mpeg-2.

Cool!

I do have Nero Vision and the original video is MPEG-2. I will give it a shot and check back.

Thank you donkeed! You always have the answers this board is seeking.
