had surge protectors but still took out my phones,2 tv's, dvd recorder,cable modem, 2 routers either card, tv card in my computer. my compuer still works but slow as hell. won't be capping for awhile. guess i'm just lucky the house did not burn down |

Did the surge protectors have some sort of warranty where they insure the protected items up to a certain $$? That does suck. I had that happen to me at work. Not that I had to pay to replace anything, but I was literally reaching to hit "print" on this long spreadsheet project which took me a week, when the building got zapped and I lost the computer.
