I would not download this at this time. After you download it and restart your computer, it will ask you if you want to take part in responding to them to try to make it better or something like that. Or you can just say no.

I did it both ways, and both times, after I recorded TV shows, then went back to see what I had, it only gave me about 10 sec. or so in each show, then then screen went blue with some type of writing. (I forgot what it said)

So I spent most of the day on sunday formatting and putting everything back on a couple of times. What a way to spend a day I even tried to restore to an earlier time, with no luck. It also said that you can remove it in the add & remove programs. It was nowhere in there to do this, atlease on my computer

I did not put it on this time, and so far I have not had this problem as of yet.

Optional software updates

Microsoft Windows XP

Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (KB900325)

Download size: 62.4 MB , 8 minutes

Update Rollup 2 contains new features, functionality and improvements. These include: the ability to connect Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to Xbox 360 to stream music, photos, recorded TV and video; support for DVD changers; improved DVD burning capabilities; and stability and quality improvements. This update is highly recommended for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. After installing, revisit Windows Update for additional updates. After you install this update, you may have to restart your computer. Details...

pennycorp66, I stay away from that. It's screwed up how you have to download it and I has a bunch of problems with it also.

I had to format my computer more then once just to get rid of it by d/l it. That was also the last d/l they will make for the media center. M/S has done away with any new media centers. I saw somewhere that in a few years window will be a thing in the past and that's been awhile back.

I'll try to find the link to it ;)
