I flipped on to see Heather, and noticed that she's doing the entire show from what appears to be the control room. Are the maps not working? Or is this TWC's latest attempt to get people to stop watching :Doh

I read on TWCToday that they are remodeling the studios. There will be new sets and a new desk.

Yes, they need a couch, and also need to bring back Nicole. They also need to get rid of some of the guys and hire more women. They just have too many men

I thought maybe Heather had hurt her knee or something and that's why she wasn't walking around much... glad to know it's just a set change, but miss Heather's map time...

They are back to the normal setup today. No sign of new sets.

How about Kristina Abernathy I for one am tired of the weather shows Jim Cantore is a Jerk with a big ego he thinks he is the world's greatest weather man he SUCKS big time those shows are so boring The Weather Channel needs to remember the most viewers were us guys watching the Ladies do their job and to see a flash of leg also get rid of Al Roker he is a freaking joke and Soooo Boring thanks for listening Good Day

I just have to comment. While we are all admirers of the ladies of TWC, the ratings do not reflect that better looking women on TWC get more viewers. In fact, as always, weather *events* drive ratings. TWC ratings go through the roof during east coast blizzards, hurricanes, etc. And while many may not like Cantore, if you think Mgmt is sitting there unaware of his appeal and blindly putting him on the air *thinking* he is good when everyone hates him, you have no understanding of how TV production works. Trust me, they scrutinize the data from general ratings to targeted audiences and most importantly, what draws the big bucks. Shows can draw targeted advertising b/c you can tell a company that a certain viewer will tune in during a specific slot to see this particular show. And guess what? Cantore draws. Most people don't want TWC every day hoping for legs or T&A. They just think of TWC as a weather place and Cantore is the face of that channel. Just as Chris Berman is to ESPN..another figure that sports geeks don't like but average fans do.

It is all about ad dollars (which makes sense. You run a station as a business to make money and the money comes from ads and so you do what you can to get the most/highest money ads.) and I promise you the mgmt isn't putting people on air simply for their own whims and likes. (95% of the time, that is.)

I should add, having pretty ladies doesn't hurt -- but not to the extent we would like to believe. Attractive people, in general, are always on TV for better ratings. Having a few babes certainly works but they have other viewers and other ways of getting far higher dollars.

Tuesday was back to using the control room and all the forecast segments were done from the 3D studio with the camera zoomed in to where the regular green screen is with
no leg views.

For the 1am hour Chrystal and Chris are gone and just Kim is on.
They are still using 3D studio with the camera zoomed in to where the regular green screen but they did the 7 Day forecast zoomed out.

I wonder if they are moving the regular green screen forecast areas?
You can tell when they are using the 3D studio because the video is darker and grainy.
