Yeah, CNN's SD is just a cropped and downconverted of the HD. On the HD channel the ticker extends longer, and there's basically wasted space on the sides so they can crop for the SD show. Then whatever you're provider sends out might be compressed more to save them bandwidth. CNN is probably top 3 for PQ. :Kool

Compressing the picture is what Comcast does best. :jetserl

yeah, Comcast here compresses the living hell out of CNN and all of the other bottom tier channels so that they can try to squeeze more channels in in the future. Your CNN probably looks like my feed of FBN, which is incredibly clear.

Headline News is compressed beyond belief. Their PQ seems to change from day to day. Today's show looked very bad :?
