Somehow I knew this would happen. When Corus bought out Global from Shaw, they paid a boatload of money for it. And usually the first thing new owners do is look for "synergies" where they can cut costs, especially when it comes to staffing.
Liza being the lead for the show was certainly going to be earning the most money, likely six-figures and 2x or maybe even 3x what her co-host Jeff was earning. And since they already have another white attractive blonde woman to read the news and do interviews, Liza was an expensive expendable on the show.
She'll probably get snatched up by CP24 Breakfast (who hired away Mika and Nalini from BT in a vain effort to duplicate BT's formula). The only real negative is that a) CP24 Breakfast is a terrible morning show, and b) that tiny tiny video window makes for lousy vidcaps.
Will miss her on Global though. She was charming, witty, funny, sexy and damn her breasts were amazing. Amazing.
