Just what this forum needs - caps from the brand new Quebec adaptation of the Price is Right! The brunette is Oksana Ryokova. The blonde is Martine Forget. Both were former suitcase holders on Le Banquier (#20 and #18 respectively)

If folks want to watch it, the show is online at vtele's website. It is broken into 9 part(ie)s. It is worth it just for Martine's incredible curves (and Oksana's aren't bad either).

It is viewable outside Quebec in Canada, but I'm not sure about elsewhere.

There are many differences between the French-Canadian TPIR and our version:

One, they use a mix of the current and long-retired music cues;
second, there's only one Showcase and they have to secretly bid on it;
and third...it's a whole lot better than the god-awful mid-'90s version (which gave away car rentals instead of new cars)!

But it was quite weird seeing Hole In One (or Two) played for jewelry rather than A NEW CAR!!!!!

A couple of other differences

The Golden Road progresses in the same fashion, but it is a Higher/Lower than game instead.
The punchboard isn't for cash, but for a specified prize. There are lower value cash prizes though.

Meanwhile, after the US aired their 7500th episode today, TPIR:ÀVDJ aired #4 tonight.

I think the Golden Road on the Quebec version is actually "More or Less" (just like on the U.S. version).

Hey, at least it's a hell of a lot better than that cheap and crappy Philippine version they had earlier this year!

The game is played like More or Less, but it is called Rue D'Or, and the whole feel of the game is pure Golden Road, so I tend to think of it in that style. The strange difference in this week's show - the Dice Game is played, but instead of a car, it is a 4-digit valued racing bicycle. No white line in the Quebec dice game either.

Anyhow, this week's was probably my favourite of the 5 so far, so if you are a game show junkie, head up to the VTELE site posted above in a day or so and watch the show. If you know the show, the language barrier is pretty minimal.

Game Show Nerd Time: They really need to start folding the pieces of paper in the punchboard game. It is obvious what is in there as soon as the host pulls it out, killing any suspense.
