Of course, if it happened he'd probably spin off CNN:

But what if he didn't
Which CNN babes would make the Fox News cut?
Off the top of my head ...
Brianna Keilar
Brooke Baldwin
Robin Meade
Lynn Berry
Alison Kosik
Kate Bolduan

Here's one take on it but it may be a little biased since it was an interview on a fox business show:
http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/3677961861001

and here's another vid (shep and maria bartiromo who don't want to "bet against Rupert"):

they think even if murdoch buys time warner, he'll sell CNN (probably to CBS)

yes its going to be very biased. since they want look like its in there favor or best thing to happen. if this where to happen does that mean comcast does not get to buy time warren now.

The reports I've seen say all Rupert wants are HBO and Turner Sports, which makes sense

Yes, I'm sure he would like to have CNN but there would be legal issues:
from http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/fox-was ... arner.html:
Quote:
But even though Murdoch has been turned down, it does not mean he won’t try again. Once he puts his mind to something, he’ll keep trying until he succeeds.

Think about this again. This would have combined Fox Sports, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports Net, Fox Soccer Plus, Fox Deportes, FX, HBO, NBA TV, TBS, TNT, truTV and not to mention Fox News, FXX, Turner Classic Movies, and other networks.

Fox would have sold CNN to avoid any antitrust problems and that might have set off a bidding war for the network.

It wouldn't effect the sale. Time Warner Cable is a different company. In 2009 Time Warner spun off the cable operations.

if does happen he can not own CNN. and there rumors going around that ABC or CBS or Yahoo are in running for it. since he can not own both networks. to me CBS and ABC are best bet since both would like to have there resources.

Here's the Times article from today, which indicates it would affect the sale:

Imagine if Fox got Turner Sports (NBA, NCAA Tournament, MLB playoffs, NASCAR)
It would give ESPN a real run for its money

This is all it says in the article about the possible Comcast and TWC merger (note that they mention TWC split off from Time Warner), nothing about it effecting the possible merger.
Quote:
And the people close to Time Warner raised the possibility of rigorous antitrust scrutiny, particularly at a time when the Obama administration is already warily examining the Comcast megamerger with Time Warner Cable, which split off from Time Warne

While he probably would be asked to sell CNN and other channels, there is no law saying that he cannot own it. The law that you probably are thinking of is the one that applies to local TV stations. Where unless the media company is granted a waiver, you cannot own more then one TV station in the local market. Also the rule applies to ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox television networks not cable channels.
Quote:
Dual TV Network Ownership. The rule prohibits a merger among any two or more of these television networks: ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC.

this what going on with CNN. any one work for HLN will stay in Atlanta. any one else working in Atlanta that was part of CNN side will be moved to New York city. so they want HLN in one city and CNN in New York. some might get let go if do not want to move to New York but not sure how many turned it down.
