Well you are correct in that the reason for existence of a Fox News is to provide the news and opinion, not to show off ladies.
Then again, TV is a visual medium and I'm sure there are a lot of women who are far more qualified than the ladies on Fox and CNN and so on yet they just don't have "it" in regards to their looks. It's just the way it is. As for allowing the hosts to pick their own studio setup, I think that's a bridge too far. In regards to what happened at Fox, the scandal had nothing to do with whether or not there was a desk on the set.
