Nope I won't. Veronica just got hosed By Azteca America. She was moved to a show El Club De Eva that was supposed to last and ran in the USA on their only channel starting in late January. But weeks before airing the producer quit and ran off to Televisa since it is the rival Network in Mexico. So Martha Rodriguez, the woman who created the show, sued Azteca and took with her a woman who was to host. I think the lady once did Suelta La Sopa who quit as host before the show even aired. El Club De Eva was only on three months and kept getting retooled. But at one point the hosts started to sit out. So Veronica sometimes had leg. Then it was abruptly canned last week. Veronica Del Castillo was fired. Only two hosts kept and moved to a show that does not air in America. I'm pissed about it all. It is partly due to the lawsuit but also the production team deciding the show should end in favor of a new show. They claim market research showed Veronica stunk as a host and held the show back. Another woman also canned. And a tool added for new show which is in a different set called Todo Un Show. So now Azteca America reruns El Club De Eva and not sure why. Monday's rerun was from when the show used a table set all hour. I"ll be ok. But I expected the show to last and maybe post pictures. But now I don't care. But every show is on YouTube. Azteca was friendly enough to post all shows.
Damn, this really sucks. I've only been able to catch glimpses of the show on random days and I was always confused by the constantly changing format with different numbers of hosts and different types of segments, so I'm not too surprised it ended being canned - a real failure on Azteca's part, considering female-led talk shows are huge in most TV markets right now.
It'll be interesting to see what Veronica does next, it kind of seems like she's drifting away from doing a lot of TV work. She's gotten into a lot of spirituality stuff recently (including apparently trying to talk to spirits of dead people, and no, I'm not kidding, she talked about it at length in an article I now can't find), and she's already written a successful book about using sex to connect more with religion (with another spirituality book coming out later this year).
Fun/frustrating fact: she almost did a nude photoshoot a couple years ago for a Mexican magazine, but at the last second her son talked her out of it.
