The longtime Fox Business host during the final hour of trade called "The Claman Countdown" appeared on another person's podcast for the first time in goodness how long. She hosts the very popular Saturday morning podcast simply titled "Everyone Talks To Liz."
Since late 2021, Russell Sherman has interviewed various newsmakers in several different industries--magazines, newspapers, reporters, and others.
The pod comes out monthly, and Liz appeared on the September 10 episode. She spent nearly an hour talking about her struggles starting out delivering newspapers in her hometown area of Los Angeles, trying to survive a nasty winter in Columbus, Ohio, and her dream of trying to return home to NBC4--but the tragic event that second Friday night at the Atlanta Centennial Olympics in 1996 changed that.
The key moment of the pod is at the 28:30 mark and how Liz made the momentous leap to Fox Business, when they were getting ready to launch in 2007. Once the rumors came true, it has been quite a climb. Even with their "hard" struggles, FBN became the first business network to broadcast in HD.
Even for the "resourcefulness" on how she left the #1 show on CNBC and going to the upstarts at Fox Business--look at them today. In the last few years, they are
#1 in business ratings. And for the real TV nerds out there, this is the 18th anniversary of their first day on the air.
What a run it has been, and she would be on the first to tell you how much of "a climb" it was.
There's even a small discussion about her embracing TikTok.
It is a really cool podcast, so I hope you enjoy as much as I did:
