Regarding the podcast charts, Searchable no longer exists. However there is a better platform called Podchaser where you can search by subject in addition to other options:

Oh, OK. My fault, I read it as you were saying that they are happy to be gone from ABC the network, not the actual building, because they’re doing so much better now on their own.

Exactly.
Check out their daily podcast, comes out early in the morning. So at least that part hasn't changed, with them waking up early but they are doing it from home rather than back in the studio.

Even if the ratings are off, it's iHeart Radio that has the final say--so we'll see how long this lasts.

They are not in the top 200 today but I don’t know the podcast world well enough to know where you need to be for it to be considered “successful”

I think it is either the so-called "algorithm", or that comments have been coming in fast and furious--like last week's show about older men dating young women.

One thing I have been wondering all this time with their "Morning Run" expanding to seven days a week, their afternoon pods about crime stories ripped from 20/20 (ironically Amy Robach was a co-host alongside World News Tonight anchor David Muir) and Nightline. Even they brought in Jennie Garth from 90210 fame doing a dating series for women called "I Do Part 2", plus their weekly relationship column in the Life section on yahoo.com--we can safely admit what iHeart Media Podcasts are at its' core:

An iHeartMedia podcast in 2025 feels similar to a daytime TV show in the early to mid 2000's. They are a dime a dozen, but there is still real money and a good audience for the best ones.

The network still has real hits. Its legacy advertising machine and distribution umbrella goes a long way. But like several talk shows that came and went faster than your favorite baseball team losing 60 or more games by the All-Star break, it makes you wonder sometimes.

But like hanley mentioned, the ratings alone continue to dictate that people may not be interested anymore.

The fallout of their firings from GMA3 were well documented, but being away from the media for nearly a year brings this question. Was it the right move after their public love affair forced them to file divorces, which BTW was neatly swept under the rug with Dr. Jen Ashton just trying to hide her smile in doing her job on the main desk.

If you haven't been checking out their Saturday podcasts simply titled "Recovery Run", it is simply a virtual eye-opener.

We already know how they first met with their love of running. Amy has been a long distance runner for several years, having run in both the Chicago (even though she couldn't finish that race) and New York City marathons.

But the main point of this pod was while taking a rare vacation away from Manhattan to spend quality time with their families, they encountered many familiar setbacks and frustration with trying to deal with two rental car companies. Their stories, in particular in the way Amy explained why it all went wrong was like comparing to a certain episode of Seinfeld. But all was well in the end, especially with going to a carnival. :shades

It lasts double the time as their normal weekday "Morning Run" shows, nearly the same amount of time as a typical weekly podcast covering sports, business, politics, entertainment, or whatever subjects are hot in the news.

Enjoy this rare refresher away from talking all things newsworthy, and yes they still get up early just like they did when they did the news from Times Square.

So far, we haven't heard anything about the network's move to Hudson Square (the camera/drone shots show a block of medium size office buildings with a park across the street.) At least, the studio is large enough for Tory Johnson's "Steals and Deals" products segment and indoor musical concerts. At the same time, there are no more viewers invited to the studio or peering through the floor to ceiling glass windows.

For the first time since November 2022 when they were at ABC News, it was a solo act on Thursday's "Morning Run".

It was T.J. who drew the assignment as he led off the pod saying this:

"It was only a matter of time, I suppose. Many speculate, but she left me. I'll just pause there so tabloid reporters can go crazy for a second.
No, she bounced (off the grid) for a couple of days. She's...had a kid we had to get to college. Had to get out to Boulder, Colorado.
So given that the kid we had to get into college, only one of us could go. And given that it's her kid and not mine, we figured she was the better choice. So my dear Amy Robach is out in Boulder, Colorado now dropping our dear Annalise for her junior, no excuse me, her sophomore year of college.
But Robach will be back with us soon."

This on an otherwise crazy news day where their feed had not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE podcasts in the same day (one of them featured an hour long conversation about messy celebrity divorces, so take that as you will.)
I am sure it will be interesting to hear Amy's adventure heading out to the Rocky Mountains. And if you have never been to Boulder, you should check it out. It's a really nice place.

UPDATE: Amy returned in time for the usual Saturday "Recovery Run."

It was Homecoming week for T.J., as they both visited his alma mater at the University of Arkansas.

He was invited as a guest lecturer at the UA Journalism School where he talked about the state of news and the media today--this after wrapping up a decade long run at ABC News, and working in cable news prior to that. From what Amy and T.J. both described, the students are curious yet fully aware of all the absolute junk that transpired during this past week (outside of the really cool CBS intro taking football viewers back to 1975, and the 1980's with the CGI robot during The NFL Today intro.)

The second half of the pod had them discussing their love of all things horror movie related, and trying to find that "outlet" to cut through the negativity as we all continue to try to continue steering clear of what happened not only to Jimmy Kimmel, but the interesting choice of words that Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve said moments after she was ejected during their WNBA semifinal playoff game--where they lost on the road to the Phoenix Mercury.

Are horror movies good for you to watch, or are just there to scare the living daylights out of your brain?

Amy and T.J. are huge horror movie fans, so they explain on Wednesday's pod to kick off October with why they think that according to science--horror movie watching is actually good for you to do (unlike romantic tear-jerker films):

And beginning today until Halloween, they are counting down their top 30 Deep Cuts Horror Hit List.
Look for it every afternoon, wherever you get your podcasts.

The first of three different posts on Amy and T.J.'s Deep Cuts Horror Hit List, beginning with positions 21 through 30 and the year when each film was released:

21. Jeepers Creepers (2001)
22. Sinister (2012)
23. Lake Placid (1999)
24. 30 Days of Night (2007)
25. Late Night With The Devil (2024)
26. Look Away (2018)
27. The Rental (COVID year of 2020, since some horror movies were allowed to film outdoor scenes.)
28. The Ruins (2008)
29. The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)
30. Hush (2016)

They tell listeners why each film made their list, what the critics said, suggestions on who should and should not watch, and (surprisingly) what food/drinks and general spooky atmosphere to make it a ghoulish good time.
I can only imagine what kind of reviews they will read on Apple Podcasts.

With everyone's attention spans as small as a petite pea, Business Insider had a nice recap of everything that transpired, especially when the fallout from AB News took a bit of time to digest--but when the news hit hard, it hit really hard:

Here's numbers 11 through 20 in "Amy and T.J.'s Deep Cuts Horror Hit List":

11. "Heart Eyes", released on February 7--a true rom-com that is on Netflix.
12. "Bring Her Back", released on May 28 can be found on HBO Max.
The rest of the films are from prior years:
13. "The Blackening" (June 2023)
14. "Re/Member" (2022)
15. "Barbarian" (2022)
16. "Oddity" (2024)
17. "Ready Or Not" (2019)
18. "The Crazies" (2010)
19. "Untitled Horror Movie" (2021). IMDB mentions that this, "A comedy about making a horror movie. When six co-stars learn their hit TV show is about to be canceled, they decide to shoot their own film, unintentionally summoning a spirit with an affinity for violence."
And some scenes were shot via Zoom, all thanks to COVID-19.
20. "Would You Rather" (2012). No, it is not the famous segment that Mark Silverman aka Silvy--popular sports talk radio host at ESPN 1000 in Chicago when he discusses mostly about the Bears. Instead, the plot is really too sick to mention in this space--after briefly searching IMDB's site.

Hopefully, their top 10 will be the right mix of freaky, ghoulish fun. I look forward to posting that final list, hopefully on Halloween night.

In the meantime, back to their usual gossip podcasts about a Golden Bachelor getting catfished, the love tales of Alexis Bellino and the rise to fame from Mexican comedian and actor Eugenio Derbez--among such sleazy topics.

Better late than not at all, here were Amy and TJ's Top 10 Deep Cuts in their love of all things horror movies. Two of their top 5 and three of their top 10 are rated PG-13.

1. "Devil" (2010), runs only 1 hour and 20 minutes.
2. "Train To Busan" (2016), a true zombie apocalypse type movie.
3. "Host" (2020), inspired by what we were living through with the living, breathing virus known as COVID-19
4. "Drag Me To Hell" (2009)
5. "The Descent" (2005)
6. "Talk To Me" (2003)
7. "Final Destination Bloodlines" (2025)
8. "Smile" (2022)
9. "The Cabin in the Woods" (2012)
10. "Countdown" (2019), critics gave this film a very low score on Rotten Tomatoes. But the fans loved it.

It took 723 days.

After the hundreds of "Morning Run" episodes, along with special reports on very gruesome crimes appropriate for CourtTV or 20/20, plus longtime Beverly Hills 90210 star actor Jennie Garth and veteran TV/movie actor/singer Jana Kramer dishes on all things relationship wise (for better or worse) on "I Do Part 2"--the Amy & T.J. Podcast reached a milestone on Thanksgiving Day.

The podcast reached 1,000 episodes! :D

If anyone is curious to know, the topic that put them over the top was:
"Dealing With Toxic Family This Holiday? Try Grey Rocking."
Look for it on Spotify, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Continuing the holiday theme that we heard from all of October on their 31 horror movie Deep Cuts countdown, Monday started a brief run of holiday gift ideas.
(It's actually their producer who came up with the idea.)

Right away, they mentioned that this particular set of episodes will feature one gift for the next three weeks:
December 1-5, 8-12, and 15-19--weekends continuing to be of whatever is in the headlines (good or bad).

If you follow along on the Apple Podcasts app, they will have the exact link in the description so you can see what it's all about. They also mention about this on their Instagram handle.
Might be worth checking out if you are stumbling around to find that perfect present for someone special. We will see what they will be talking about, in what I am hoping will be segments lasting no more than 25 minutes (that includes three blocks of commercials).

Thursday afternoon had probably their funniest episode in the two year old "Amy & T.J. Podcast".

The title says it all "She's 66 and He's 21...What Your Spotify Wrapped Says About You!"

The full explanation in this fun half-hour episode will have you giggling in little time  . I remember they both laughed briefly for a short period when they were co-anchoring GMA3. However, with their podcast--look at how much creative freedom they can say without fear or repercussions from the FCC.
