then there's Kimmel and Ferguson, which have no excuse other than money. and how much do prices actually drop due to waiting? maybe 50k a year? bah

another gold mine is Kelly on Regis. but i guess syndication is a big hurdle for HDTV. prolly why miss money bags Oprah is still livin in the 90s.

I can give a little insight into this.

The CBS Early Show is a DISTANT 3rd place. Going HD will just add to the costs & they'll still be in 3rd place so no go.

Plus, CBS is cheap w/ HD. I don't know of any O & O CBS stations that have an HD local newscast yet. Maybe in 2008 they'll do it.

It took CBS till last year before they did Letterman in HD when Leno had been in HD since 1999 I think. So, you can just imagine how long Ferguson will take.

As for Kimmel he's done pretty well for ABC so don't be surprised if they do it in the Fall.

Oprah is rumored to go HD in the Fall but who knows. Before any of you say who cares about Oprah it's for the women. Get women caring about HD and you'll really see it take off.

Regis & Kelly is due to syndication issues (a lot of stations just can't manage the feed yet) and probably vanity (too much detail).

I downloaded the first vid and all I can hear is the audio. I can't see anything. It won't play in my Divx player or my Windows Media Player 10 and the computer i'm on won't let me download Real Player for some reason so does it play on anything else? or what codec do I need?
