When i choose a file or folder name they have started to appear as last created first :?

Have you attempted to "Arrange Icons By Name?"

Sometimes (for whatever reason), Windows resets folder settings.

Are you using Windows 2000 or...?

If i click on a folder they appear in order
but if want to save to they appear out of order :?
