You might want to search through the tech forum more thoroughly because there's already some info posted.

Here's the methods I know:

1) with a tuner card and antenna
2) with a tuner card with s-vid or composite input and cable box (non HD)
3) dvd recorder and pc with dvd drive (and software)
4) dvr with networking capabilities
5) dvr with firewire support

I'm using V-Dub mod 1.5.4.1 to cap from the vobs in BMP, and convert to jpeg and sharpen with irfranview. Sometimes i will use powerdvd to cap. Both virtual dub mod and irfranview are free.

I tried doing that too and mine came out terrible. I'm still amazed how he gets those caps to look that good. :?
