The caps look really crisp....more than the vid. I would encode the vid to Xvid from original. I presume the original is an HD upconvert at around 13-18Mbps which is way more than needed. Mediacoder works with almost any original file format you throw at it. You had mentioned somewhere that the you used Mac, and it says most functions of mediacoder work with Mac. Don't skip the audio either. :Kool

Thanks for your feedback. I'll need to install/build Wine to use Mediacoder (Wine enables Windows executables to run on Mac), but it's worth the time to build.

The h.264/.mp4 still looks good if you can't do Xvid. Technically it's a more advanced codec, but I've never had any luck encoding with it unless I use high bitrates. Then it doesn't play back on slow machines.

Keep an eye on the HD stuff. :Kool
