What is going on with the analog reception for my card?
I get this kind of picture (and only for analog. It works fine for "HD" channels)

I was gonna ask about my Hauppauge tuner with analog cable channels
I can't record or watch anymore because all channels look bright and the picture looks scrambled
The HD OTA channels have no problem :?

I installed it new in Feb 2007 and it started getting bright in 2009
but when it first started i would wait 20 min after starting the winTV software and it would fix itself :? but not anymore

I only connect the antenna on the HD plug
and cable wire on the analog plug
It has separate connectors for each tuner

Question for both of you...Is it just capping using the software that gives you crappy pics, or is that how it displays when you're watching it live or recorded? Do the recordings look normal when played in other players or just the capture software?

I have basically the same tuner as Cobra, and I get the black and white, scrambled caps like he showed if I cap using WinTV. It displays and plays back fine, it's just caps that turn out like that. This only happens on certain OTA HD channels, with the exception of FOX and ABC. I hooked cable up to it in November, and haven't had any problems with it displaying or getting weird caps from any of the cable channels so far.

It plays like that and looks like that when I get images
Of course it looks like that only for analog

The only thing I did was get an external antenna because I wasn't picking up a few HD channels fully.

The recording looks the same as when i did those live caps with WinTV player
I just Connected a VCR to Composite and looks good
So it looks good on Digital OTA and Composite but not Analog Cable

Well my card is back to being fine
I hooked up my original string-like antenna and Bam!

Analog (left) and "OTA HD" (middle and right)
