In terms of "tenure" with NBC, Ann's got years longer than Amy did. Ann began on NBC Sunrise anchoring when that was the
pre-show lead in to "Today" (starting in 1991) , and then she transitioned onto "Today" after that.
As for a fan following, Amy & Ann were probably about even.
That said, just like others have mentioned - main host of Today is not fitting Ann too well. The gaffes, the pawing at guests
(especially celebrities), the "trying too hard" thing... It shows week after week. If she was going to improve, it would've
happened already. Her biggest success even with critics has always been her field reporting, and serious interviews.
That's probably what she should focus on once her time with Today ends - whenever that occurs.
