watching Erin Burnett right now w/ Brooke Baldwin subbing; they barely went 6 minutes before the first commercial break...

probably a common complaint, but getting hard to watch anything other than sports live...

It's hard to watch a movie on a commercial-supported network anymore because of the amount of commercials. At least on Red Eye, the first commercial break is about 3:17ET.

yes, 17 minutes is not bad at all; if you can pass 10 or 12 minutes it feels like you're actually watching something

What is even worse is when your provider's commercials cuts into the show.

Sports aren't any better. You can't even watch a game of football without there being a commercial break at every change of possession.

Anyone ever caught Geraldo Rivera's weekend show? It's the worst as far as commercial breaks I've ever seen but Geraldo is a train wreck in how he handles it. He asked a guest a question and halfway through the answer he shot in with - "Hold that thought! Gotta cut to commerical.....we'll be......."and they were gone before he could finish.

Yeah, football is getting real bad. The worst is when a team punts the ball with 10 seconds to go and the play is dead with 3 seconds to go in the quarter. Think they'd just let the offense play it out? Nah, gotta jam in a few commercials and then come back to one play before more commercials.

On a side note - CNN needs to take their heads out of their rear ends with Out Front. Brooke Baldwin is guest-hosting and all we get are shots from her shoulder-blades on up? Seriously?? They should just hand it over to Jake Tapper or some other guy if that's going to be the case.

DVRs really help for that. For the things I watch regularly, I've just learned how much of the 'showtime' is used up by ads, and just ignore that part. For example, if a 1hr show is going to be 17 minutes of ads. I pause the DVR and go do something else for a little while. Then I start and if I get it right, I won't have to see a single ad, I'll zip through the whole show, and it'll end *just* as the next-hour begins so I can switch to a different channel and do it all over again.

Looks like they took your advice tonight. :Bang

Yeah it was disappointing I was hoping to get a leg segment from Brooke while she was subbing in. Lately they've been cheating us out of Erin's legs too. And when are they gonna bring back the chair interview segment to Out Front?

Get with it already CNN!

You can't even watch a lot of sports without a lot of commercials. Not that the sports side of it affects me much since I only really pay attention to college sports. However...seriously. It's gotten to the point where I swear if you are watching "an hour long" program. you're getting 35..maybe 40 minutes of show and 20 W#@$@%#@$%#%#$ :censor :censor #$^@^@#@ :censor of commercials.
